Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
A Verdant Safaris driver/guide will pick you at 7:00am from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala, brief you about the 3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Tour and then take you on a 9 hour journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the home of mountain gorillas. You will make a stopover at the Equator Crossing at Kayabwe, just outside Kampala City for a quick experiment that proves the existence of the Equator at that spot and you will also take some nice photos at the Equator. You will then get back on the road and proceed to Mbarara, making a second stopover at Hotel Triangle in Mbarara for lunch and to freshen up before proceeding to Bwindi.
After lunch, you will get back on the road and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will arrive at safari lodge already booked for you in the evening, in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After your early morning breakfast at the lodge in Bwindi, you will be given packed lunch and then transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park headquarters for pre-trek briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority officials. During briefing, you will be told about the gorilla trekking rules and guidelines and all the necessary information for you to have the best experience tracking the mountain gorillas. Feel free to ask questions for better clarification about what goes on during the gorilla trekking exercise. You will be allocated a gorilla tracking group and assigned ranger guides with whom you will enter the jungle in search of the gorillas. Each gorilla family can be visited by up to 8 (eight) people at a time. The ranger guides are very skilled in tracking the gorillas and will assist you in locating them in the jungle.
Once you locate the mountain gorillas, you will be allowed up to one hour with them as you watch them move up and about, the young ones being playful and the silverbacks taking charge of the rest. Remember to come with your cameras so that you take all the best photographs you possibly can because encountering the mountain gorillas in the jungle will indeed feel surreal.
After the gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will take time to eat your packed lunch after which you will head back to the park headquarters and be issued a gorilla trekking certificate that proves you took part in gorilla trekking. Part of the proceeds from gorilla trekking goes directly to conservation and protection of these endangered mountain gorillas. You will then head back to the lodge to freshen up and in the afternoon, you will be taken on a guided nature walk and community visit to see the way of life of the local people near the park. You will then return to the lodge in time for dinner and overnight stay.

You will make a stopover at Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch and to learn about the Ankole culture. After lunch, you will proceed and make a second stopover at the Equator crossing for more photos and to buy souvenirs to take back home from your Uganda safari. You will then proceed to Kampala City or Entebbe Airport arriving in the evening.
